Livingstone City Council extends dog vaccination exercise

Livingstone, March 25, 2014 ZANIS —-  Livingstone City Council Public Relations  Manager Emmanuel Sikanyika says his council has extended the dog registration exercise to cater for dogs that have not yet been vaccinated and registered.

Mr. Sikanyika says the council has extended the vaccination and registration date to give chance to those residents who missed the exercise due to distance.

He said this in an interview in Livingstone in response to the complaints by residents in the area.

The council had established five additional centers to take the exercise nearer to the people and these would be manned by officers from the council and the veterinary department to ensure dogs were vaccinated and registered in one place.

He named the centers as Samba Central Community Hall, St. Raphaels in Maramba, Saxon Shopping Complex in Dambwa North, Chandamali Market in Nottie Broadie and the Old Civic Centre and the Livingstone City Council itself.

Some dog owners are on record to complain of the long distance to the  local authority’s vaccination center.
