Midfielder Cletus Chota has quit Zesco United and returned to Power Dynamos less than three months after joining Zambia’s 2014 CAF Confederation Cup representatives.

Chota joined Zesco in January on a permanent move from Nchanga Rangers after a six month loan stint at Power.

Power club secretary Ricky Mamfunda confirmed that the player was back and training with the Kitwe side.

“The information we have is he has tendered in his resignation from Zesco but I am not in Kitwe right now but I have heard that he was training with us,” Mamfunda said.

“For now, I cannot say much because he still has a long-term contract with Zesco.”

Chota had a successful half a season stay at Power and was instrumental in the teams’ revival under new coach Tennant Chilumba when they escaped demotion to finish eighth.

The talented midfielder joined Power from Roan United where he spent the initial part of the 2013 season, also on loan from Nchanga.

Chota has already played in three competitive games for Zesco in both Confederation Cup and local cup action scoring one goal in the Ndola sides 2-1 loss to Red Arrows in the 2014 Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield semi-final match on February 1 in Kitwe.
