Henwood Foundation Zambia, a New Apostolic Church faith based organization, has today disbursed more than K18, 000 to four women groups in Lusaka’s Njolwe area.

Henwood Foundation Zambia patron Michael Milupi said the New Apostolic church was determined to improve the livelihood of the people in areas where it operates from.

Apostle Milupi said the funds which were disbursed to the women groups were aimed at empowering the female folk so that they engage in income generating ventures.

He said this in Njolwe today during the disbursement ceremony where he told the beneficiaries to use the funds prudently.

The clergyman explained to the women that the funds were a revolving fund which should be passed on to other women groups hence the need to utilize them wisely.

And speaking earlier, Henwood Foundation Zambia Executive Director Tebuho Yubai disclosed that the foundation has trained women groups in various business ventures.

Mr. Yubai cited booking keeping, business management, cash flow and chicken rearing as some of the skills imparted to the women clubs.

He expressed optimism that with the training offered to the clubs by the foundation, the women will be able to succeed in their endeavours.

In passing a vote of thanks on behalf of the women clubs, Doreen Nyambe assured the foundation that the funds given to the clubs would be put to good use.
