Chinsali man commits suicide

A 44-year-old man has committed suicide by hanging himself with an electrical cable in his matrimonial bedroom in Nakonde District of Muchinga province.

The man has been identified as Edward Siame of Matipa village in Chieftainess Nawaitwika‘s area.

Muchinga Deputy Police Commissioner, Bonny Kapeso, confirmed the incident to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Chinsali today.

Mr Kapeso said the deceased committed suicide after he suspected his wife of having an extra marital affair with another man when he was out of the village.

He told ZANIS that Siame hanged himself using an electrical black cable suspended from the roof pole in his bedroom.

The deputy police chief said police do not suspect foul play and have since advised the relatives to bury the body.
