The National Council for Construction (NCC) Executive Director Charles Mushota has disclosed that about 300 young people have been targeted this year to be trained in the operation of earth moving equipment for road construction.

Mr. Mushota says this will be made possible in collaboration with contractors that have jobs with Road Development Agency (ZDA).

And Mr. Mushota has observed that one challenge that his council is currently facing is lack of equipment such as graders, front loaders, rollers, and excavators used in the construction industry to use in practical training purposes.

Mr. Mushota says it is this lack of such equipment that limits council to train more people.

He however notes that he will be engaging government to see whether it may consider providing even just one set of the said needed equipment for practical training.
