The Zambia Volleyball Association (ZAVA) has disclosed that nominations for forthcoming elections are only open for all accredited affiliates.
ZAVA secretary general Charles Hambote disclosed that only eligible candidates can file in their nominations for the 10 ZAVA executive positions that will be filled at next month’s annual general meeting.
Hambote however said members will be advised on which positions to contest once they file in their nominations.
He told ZANIS Sports in an interview in Lusaka today that only Lieutenant Colonel Masiye Tembo of Zambia Army has so far filed in his nominations for the position of ZAVA president.
Lt. Col Tembo will be challenging the current president Charles Muyinda who is also re-contesting his position.
And Hambote disclosed that the deadline for all affiliates to file in their nominations is 15th March 2014.
He named the available positions as that of president, vice president, general secretary, vice general secretary, treasurer, technical commissioner, referees commissioner, coaches commissioner, schools and youth development commissioner and legal and disciplinary commissioner.
