Suspected Tanzanian national dies mysteriously in Shiwangandu District

Shiwang`andu, February 19, 2014, ZANIS…a Man suspected to be a
Tanzanian National has died in a mysterious circumstance in Chief
Mukwikile`s area in Shiwang’andu District of Muchinga Province.

ZANIS reports that both bywel village Headman in Chief Mukwikile`s chiefdom Jameson
Ng`andu and Shiwang’andu dc Catharine Chileshe confirmed the incident in separate
interview in Shiwang’andu today.

Mr Ng’andu said the deceased who died on Monday 17th February this
week did not carry any identification document to trace his origin but
it was believed that he was a Tanzanian National as he was
communicating in Swahili before he died.

The village Headman said it is alleged that the an unidentified man
was offered food by a resident of a named village after he complained
that he was hungry.

Mr Ng`andu said the deceased did not even eat the food but decided to
continue trekking to Nakonde.

He disclosed that another resident of bywel Village who was
coming from the field around 20:00hours found him sleeping in the
drainage soaked with the rain then she called for help and they took
the man to the neighborhood.

He  said as they were making arrangements to take him to the
hospital because he looked to be unwell he died and his body is
currently lying at Mpika District Community Hospital Mortuary.

Meanwhile, Ms Catharine Chileshe said since Monday no relative of the
deceased have been traced so far adding that people should always
carry identification cards when they are in transit for easy
identification if anything happens.
