The Police and Prisons Service Commission (PPSC) is in Luanshya district to monitor operations of the Zambia Police and Prison service in the district.


The PPSC team, led by commission Chairman, Alex Mwaba, this morning paid a courtesy call on Luanshya District Commissioner, Harold Mbaulu, before proceeding on their tour of duty.


Luanshya District Commissioner Harold Mbaulu confirmed the arrival of the commission to ZANIS in Luanshya today.


The team, which was accompanied by Luanshya District Police Officer Commanding, Kenneth Magawa, and Luanshya Prisons Officer in charge, Stephen Nyendwa, is expected to tour Luanshya Prison and all police posts and station in the district.


After the tour, the commission will tomorrow hold a combined meeting for both police and prison officers in the district where the men and women in uniform will present both their commendations and grievances to the commission.


The PPSC is currently on a tour of duty in all districts of the Copperbelt province.
