Red Arrows and Zambia national team winger Bruce Musakanya says he would love to go a step further and win the big prize after walking away with the 2013 Junior Player of the Year award.

The 19-year-old winger bust on to the scene last July during the 2013 Cosafa Cup that hosts Zambia won after beating Zimbabwe 2-0 in the finals.

Musakanya said winning the award was great motivation after a successful 2013 season in which he won silverware for both club and country.

“I am honoured to have won the Young Player of the Year Award which is a plus to my career which has motivated me very much to work extra hard,” Musakanya said.

“This shows I need to put extra effort into my football so that I can win the next player of the year award.”

Musakanya was a prominent member of Zambia’s Cosafa Cup team including their failed quest to qualify for the 2014 Chan finals after losing out to Zimbabwe.

However, he missed out on Zambia’s trip to the 2013 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup in Kenya due to injury where Chipolopolo when on finish third.
