Zambia’ s FA disowns new national soccer team kit

The head of Zambia’ s soccer governing body on Friday disowned a new kit for the national soccer team which has been circulated widely through online media, saying it was not genuine.

Kalusha Bwalya, the head of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), said in a statement posted on its website that he was not aware of the new jersey for the national soccer team and that he had never seen it before.

“I have not seen that in my life. Do not believe it,” he said.

He said the soccer governing body makes available to the public authentic replica jersey for the national soccer team through its online shop and its head office, adding that any other source should not be taken serious.

There has been an increase in counterfeit kits for the national soccer team since 2012 when it won the Africa Cup of Nations.
