–Over 100 Movement for Multi party Democracy (MMD) members have defected to join the Patriotic Front (PF) Party in Chilubi district.

This came to light when Chilubi Member of Parliament, Obious Chisala, held a public rally at Kanama grounds where 160 members willingly surrendered their MMD membership cards and joined the ruling party, PF.

All the defectors, who were received with a thunderous welcome by PF officials, were lead by their district youth chairman, Joseph Lukosolo and Kanama Ward Secretary, Vincent Kasepa.

Most of them said they decided to leave MMD because they have seen how the PF Government is taking the country forward in terms of development.

They added that they would want to work with the party that has a heart for the people in the country, adding that the PF Government through the Chilubi MP has shown its commitment in improving the livelihood of people in the district.

Some of the developmental projects they pointed out were the construction of schools, roads and clinics among others.

And Mr Obious Chisala who is also Deputy Minister for Gender and Child Development, is on a continued tour of his constituency to monitor how issues of children rights are going on and also to meet his party members in the area.
