———Serenje Member of Parliament, Philip Kosamu, has expressed happiness with construction works of a police station and staff houses in the district.

Speaking when he visited the site, Mr Kosamu said he is happy with the progress the contractor, Datong Construction, has made.

Mr Kosamu expressed gratitude that the construction project was on schedule as the contractor has been on site from the time he came on site.

“So far the works are going on well and I am impressed with what the constructor is doing. He is always on site despite some bit of   complaints raised by workers from workers but they are issues to be resolved and we need to discuss with the constructor over the issues raised. So it is not something that we should worry about,” he said.

The Member of Parliament, who is also Lusaka Province Minister, thanked President Sata for embarking on developmental projects countrywide.

“We have had many presidents before but these things have not been there and I want to thank President Michael Sata for allowing these developmental projects countrywide,” Mr Kosamu said.

He said Government will manage to create the intended number of jobs through the many developmental projects that are taking shape countrywide.

Mr Kosamu, who was in the company of Ibolelo ward counsellor, Chester Kasonde, also said the people of Serenje central are seeing these developments for the first time.

He added that construction of the police station and 16 staff houses will help make police in the area be efficient as it will be easy for them to mobilize because they will be in one place.
