Government consoles accident victims family

Solwezi, January 31, ZANIS——Government has sent messages of condolences to the family of the five people who died in a road traffic accident on Wednesday after the Toyota Raum they were in collided head on with an oncoming truck.

North western province Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu who visited the funeral houses this afternoon consoled the relatives and encouraged them to look to God for strength.

Mr Mubukwanu who was accompanied by his Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga and Solwezi District Commissioner, Crispin Likando said government is devastated by the magnitude of the loss and is mourning with the bereaved family.

The minister asked the family not to put the blame on anyone or start finger pointing each other for the loss but that they should remain united and mourn the departed with peace and dignity.

And Mr Mubukwanu said government will help the bereaved family in mobilizing transport logistics for the burial of their members.

And family spokesperson David Subakanya expressed appreciation to government for the concern shown to the family.

Mr Subakanya appealed to government to assist the family to mobilize logistics for burial of the family members slated for tomorrow.

He said the family has received little help from the company where the driver of the truck that caused the accident works.

Five members of the same family among them a one year old baby died in a road traffic accident on Wednesday on the Solwezi -Chingola road after a Toyota Raum they were in collided head on with an oncoming truck.
