Unresolved contentious Constitutional matters have forced the postponement of elections for the Zambia Association of Musicians.
The artistes could not go ahead with the elections aimed at ushering a new executive committee after the presiding committee announced that the constitution only allows one vote per member despite some of them having been registered as bands.
This angered mostly Gospel artistes who usually perform in bands and choirs.
On the other hand, it was discovered that only 39 artistes are fully paid up members as at January 20, 2014 while some of them were disqualified on the basis of paying at the last minute.
At the moment, the association will be run by an interim committee to be appointed soon
