Mongu man nabbed for cheating people to pay for employment.

A 35 year old man of Mongu in Western Province has been for allegedly charging people money K100 each in the pretext of recruiting them as officers for Care International Company.

 

Western Province Commissioner of Police Lombe Kamukoshi told ZANIS that the man whose name has been withheld for investigative purposes was arrested yesterday at around 10:40 hours.

 

Ms. Kamukoshi said the man was arrested after Police was alerted by the general public.

 

Ms. Kamukoshi alleged that the accused had been carrying out fake recruitment exercise in the Province for the past two weeks alleging that he was an employee of the Care International Company in areas such as Limulunga, Kaoma, Namushekeni and Mongu and was charging K100 per application form.

 

She explained that the suspect was found with 21 application forms which were already filled.

 

Meanwhile, the police chief has since advised the general public to be wary of such criminals in the district as fraudulent activities were becoming rampant in the district.

 

The Commissioner of police said the suspect will remain in Police custody to help with investigations on the matter.
