Kampyongo happy with police project

Kampyongo is happy over the progress made so far on the
construction of a police divisional headquarters in Chinsali district.
The Muchinga province police divisional headquarters will be built at a cost
of K22 million.
Mr. Kampyongo said he was happy that the contractor Datong Construction company
had made tremendous progress on the project.
Mr Kampyongo was accompanied on an impromptu inspection tour of
the project by the deputy commissioner of Police Bonny Kapeso and
Chinsali district works supervisor Eric Banda.
Mr. Kampyongo said he was happy to note that the construction of a
four – storey police divisional headquarters was almost complete as the works had
now reached the third floor of the building.
Mr. Kampyongo appealed to other contractors in the district to take a
leaf from Datong Construction Company which has proved to the
Government that it was a committed company that will deliver the product on schedule.
And addressing Datong Construction Company workers, Mr. Kampyongo said
they need to be committed to whatever job they were engaged to do.
He said that putting more money in the people’s pockects can only be realized
if the people themselves were committed to work and produce more.
Mr. Kampyongo who is also Shiwangándu Member of Parliament appealed to
the workers to find better ways of addressing their grievances whenever
there were faced with an issue other than turning to street protests.
He also appealed to the contrctor to ensure that workers are paid wages approved by the government saying the government will not allow any contractor to pay the workers
below the minimum wage.
Mr. Kampyongo also directed management to ensure that all the workers
had protective clothing while on duty.
Other projects inspected by the minister included a police post and
Victim Support Unit VSU in Matumbo area of Shiwangándu district.
In another development, Chambeshi Water and Sewerage Company Director
for Techincal Services Willard Mutoka is happy with the works on the
K40 million Chinsali water project.
Mr. Mutoka who is in Muchinga on an inspection tour of water projects
under Chambeshi Water and Sewerage Company says the water project in
Chinsali which includes the installation of a modern water treatment
plant will enhance the supply of quality water to the residents once
The water project will also benefit the two Universities under construction in the
district which include Robert Makasa and Paul
