Nation mourns late Lumbama

Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) Executive Director Pukuta Mwanza says the untimely death of former Central Province Permanent Secretary Denny Lumbama is a great loss to the nation.

 

 

Reverend Mwanza said the untimely death of Mr. Lumbama had robbed the nation and experienced and dedicated citizen for national development.

 

 

He said that it’s a undeniable fact that current Patriotic Front (PF) Government still needs senior civil servants to offer governance skills in running government affairs.

 

 

“The death of Mr. Lumbama is very sad and shocking. It’s coming at the time when the PF needs its senior personnel in place to offer their major contributions in running the government of the day,” Rev. Mwanza lamented.

 

 

ZANIS reports that the clergyman said this in an interview in Lusaka, today.

 

 

And The clergyman said Central province saw unprecedented development under the reign of the late Permanent Secretary.

 

And opposition MMD has joined the rest of the stakeholders in mourning the demise of the late former Central Province PS, Mr. Lumbama.

 

 

 

MMD acting president Michael Kaingu in his message of condolences to the bereaved family described the death of the late Mr. Lumbama as painful.

 

 

 

Mr. Kaingu said in an interview that very death was painful but appealed to the widow and the rest of family members to remain steadfast and look up to God for guidance in this trying moment.

 

 

‘’I receive the death of Mr. Lumbama with devastation and pain. It’s shocking to loss a prominent person who once served as a controlling officer in government because his passing away has left a very big gap not only to the bereaved family but the nation as a whole,” Mr. Kaingu said.

 

 

The late Mr. Lumbama died at Kabwe Mine Hospital on January 10 around 23:00 hours after a short illness. Central Province PS Edwidge Mutale announced the death of Mr Lumbama, who aged 49 and is survived by a wife.

 

 

He was admitted at Kabwe Mine Hospital on Tuesday, 7th January, 2013 after he complained of chest pains.

 

 

He was Head-teacher at Chipembi Girls Secondary School and was first promoted as Lusaka Province Deputy Permanent Secretary in 2002 during the MMD regime.

 

 

The late former PS was later elevated to Permanent Secretary in the same year and transferred to North-Western Province from 2002 to 2006. Mr.

 

 

 

Mr. Lumbama was later moved to Central Province where he served from 2006 to 2011 until the MMD was removed by PF Government.

 

 

Funeral is being held at his residence opposite Kalonga Secondary School in Kabwe and burial arrangements would be announced.
