-Chilubi district council in Northern Province has started procuring road equipment for maintenance of local road networks in the district.
Chilubi Council Secretary (CS), John Mwanza, told ZANIS that his office has so far purchased a 30 tonne tipper truck worth K384,500 using Constituency Development Funds (CDF).
Mr Mwanza said the brand new tipper truck which has since been delivered in the district is among three other pieces of equipment which the district had planned for purchase last year.
He also said the grader will also arrive in the district in four weeks’ time as all the paper work has already been done at provincial level.
The CS said the other remaining equipment will be bought in phases this year.
He observed that once the pieces of equipment are procured in the district they will greatly help the people in the area.
