The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) has condemned in the strongest terms government’s directive to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) to cancel Patriotic Front Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba’s contract for the transportation of farm inputs using his transport company, Arizona.

FODEP Executive Director McDonald Chipenzi says the cancellation of Mr. Mwamba’s contracts is an indication that his business was not given on merit but on patronage.

Mr. Chipenzi says government’s move has clearly exposed the PF’s true colors in terms of tolerance and awarding of contracts.

He says if Mr. Mwamba’s contract was given on Merit it would not have been cancelled.

He further notes that politics of vindictiveness should not be tolerated because this has killed the country in terms of development.

Mr. Chipenzi states that what the PF government has demonstrated by canceling Mr. Mwamba’s contract is that they are not tolerant to divergent views and do not value democratic tenets.
