President Sata on Monday morning queried Home Affairs Deputy Minister Elfrider Kansembe on reports that she intends to resign.

The President says Ms Kansembe should go ahead and resign if she wants.

President Sata has reminded Ms Kansembe, who is also Lukashya MP in Kasama, that she joined politics alone and urged her not to be misled by other people.

And the President also queried the whereabouts of Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili.

The President was informed that Mr Kambwili was in Mpika handing out Youth Empowerment Fund to which he says he is not aware.

This was during the swearing in of Home Affairs Minister Ngosa Simbyakula who replaces Home Affairs Minister Edgar Lungu who has gone to the ministry of Defence in the same capacity.

President Sata also introduced Dr Simbyakula and Mr Lungu to other cabinet ministers during a Cabinet meeting.

Dr Simbyakula was Justice Deputy Minister before he was elevated to full cabinet position.
