An optometrist is jetting to Africa in a bid to give the gift of sight to disadvantaged youngsters.

Niall Hynes will provide eyecare for children and young adults in Zambia working for charity Vision Aid Overseas.

The 24-year-old is taking time out from his day job at Specsavers at Crystal Peaks shopping centre in Sheffield to fulfill an ambition to help improve the lives of those less fortunate.

Staff there have helped raise funds towards the project.

Niall, who is originally from County Mayo, said: “I have always been interested in giving something back and this trip is going to allow me to do that.

“As well as conducting sight tests on children in local schools I’ll be training optometry students and working in a clinic for albino children.”

  1. robably the most important thing that you would want to concentrate upon when running this
business. It’s considered a surgical remodeling of
the eye, or may also be cataract surgery. As the longer
you live with eye problems the more complex your surgery becomes which in turn increases costs.
