First Lady commends Expanded Church Response for helping poor people

First Lady Christine Kaseba has praised the Expanded Church Response (ECR) and the American government for their efforts towards alleviating sufferings of people in many Zambian communities.

Dr. Kaseba said cooperating partners’ contribution in addressing various developmental challenges need to be appreciated.

She said this today during the Expanded Church Response psychosocial camp closing event at Chalo Trust School in Lusaka.

She thanked the Expanded Church Response for transforming the lives of thousands of the less privileged people in Zambian communities.

Dr. Kaseba also praised the USAID forward initiative for giving ECR US$2 million grant which will be used for the strengthening of information system in Zambia.

And speaking during the same event, Expanded Church Response board member Bishop Joshua Banda said his organisation has assisted over 40, 000 vulnerable and orphaned children in Zambia in many ways.

Dr. Banda also revealed that over 20, 000 people living with HIV/AIDS have benefited from the organisation.

He said the ECR was operating in six provinces and in 24 districts of Zambia in order to serve the Zambian communities better.
