Coach Patrice Beaumelle has added ex-Zambia defender Kampamba Chintu to his bench for the teams’ Kenya 2013 Cecafa Cup outing.

Beaumelle cut the 32-year-old Chintu from his player selection list following his appointment as player/coach at MTN/FAZ Super Division side Kabwe Warriors in October.

The Frenchman told MTNFootball.com that Chintu’s addition to the bench is a positive development.

“I just asked Chintu to come with us for Cecafa. I am very happy he has accepted and he is very dedicated,” Beaumelle said.

“I think it can give him a good experience for his future as coach and we have known each other for quite a long time, for like five years.

“He knows my philosophy, my principals so for me his can be an excellent go between with the young boys.”

Chintu will be one of Beaumelle’s two assistants together with 2013 champions Nkana coach Masauso Mwale.

Meanwhile, the 20-member team left Lusaka on Sunday for Nairobi ahead of their November 28 opening Group B match against Tanzania.

The team includes 2013 top scorer Reynold Kampamba of Nkana who scored 18 goals this season.
