Zambian suspect on Interpol list

A RED notice has been issued by International Police (Interpol) for the arrest of a 28-year-old Zambian suspected to have been involved in a string of thefts in Zimbabwe.
The man, only identified as Simulata, is said to have eluded the Police dragnet in Zimbabwe for a long time, a situation that has forced authorities to seek the intervention of Interpol.
Simulata is the latest Zambian on Interpol’s most-wanted list after the global security organisation issued a similar notice for seven other Zambians.
Meanwhile, Zambian security wings are looking for three on forgery, uttering and theft by servant charges as well as fraudulent dealings with motor vehicles.
Libanga Simahwa, 34, and 29-year-old Moses Siame have had their portraits placed on the Interpol website for forgery, uttering and theft by servant charges.
In the same vein, notorious criminal Tony Mulenga, who has been at large for years now is wanted on charges of motor vehicle theft and escaping from lawful custody.
It is, however, not clear on the whereabouts of the fugitives but Police spokesperson Charity Munganga-Chanda confirmed that Police were still investigating the matter.
On the other hand, Police in Botswana are still looking for four Zambians – three females and a male – who have disappeared from prosecution after being accused of involving in illegal trade of
ivory.
According to Interpol, Sandra Simasiku, 22, and 31-year-old Ben Simasiku as well as Yvonne Minganja, 26, are wanted by the judicial authorities in Botswana following their disappearance after they were found in possession of elephant tusks.
The other suspect is Mary Mwendalubi, 35, who was also found in unlawful possession of Government trophy.
Ms Chanda said Police had continued with investigations to establish whether those accused in Zimbabwe and Botswana had crossed into Zambia.
