Super 8 rugby postponed

THE inaugural Super Eight Rugby tournament, which will signal the close of the 2013 season, will now be held on November 9.

According to Zambia Rugby Union (ZRU) head of secretariat, Kampata Banda, the preliminaries of the Super Eight, which were scheduled for this weekend, had been delayed by a week.

Banda said the Super Eight preliminary double-header games would be hosted by Lusaka and Mufulira rugby clubs.

The Buildcon 2013 League champions, Red Arrows will clash with fellow service club, Green Buffaloes while Diggers were pitted against hosts Mufulira.

In the Lusaka double-header, the hosts, Lusaka will face Roan Antelope while Prisons have a date with Green Eagles.

The winners will sail through to the semi-finals which will also be played as a double-header.

ZRU president, Martin Musunka appealed to the corporate world to come on board and sponsor the Super Eight tournament.
