A FORTY-FIVE-year-old man in Chisamba has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.

Central Province police chief Standwell Lungu identified the suspect as Collard Mweemba of Mukuwa Village who has since been charged for defilement.
Mr Lungu said yesterday said the suspect was believed to have defiled the girl on different dates between March 9 and June 28, this year.
He said the suspect took advantage of the absence of the girl’s parents and defiled her.
The man threatened violence if the girl revealed the ordeal to anyone.
Mr Lungu said preliminary investigations showed that the girl’s parents became worried about their daughter’s condition.
The girl later disclosed that she was defiled by Mweemba who threatened to kill her if she told anyone what had been happening to her.
The suspect has since been remanded in custody and would appear in court soon.
