Acting Justice Minister Edgar Lungu says President Michael Sata is willing to give up his ten percent salary increment following concerns by some sections of society.

Mr. Lungu says Patriotic Front PF Members of Parliament have also agreed to give up the ten percent salary increment.

Mr. Lungu who is Home Affairs Minister however wonders why Leaders from Opposition Political Parties have continued criticizing the Head of State on the ten percent salary increment when their members of parliament are in support of the ten percent.

Mr. Lungu has noted therefore that members of parliament from the Opposition have told the Standing Orders Committee that they are not willing to give up their ten percent salary increment because of the many challenges they are facing in their respective constituencies.

Meanwhile Members of Parliament from the Opposition have refuted to give their position on the matter stating that members of parliament are not allowed to debate each other.
