SAPPHIRE Modelling Agency in association with the Ladies of MaFashio, will next Saturday stage an all-proceeds-go-to-charity fashion show.
The show, which will be held at Lusaka Hotel, seeks to raise funds for the University Teaching Hospital’s (UTH) Sickle Cell Anaemia clinic.
A host of designers are expected to grace the show.
According to a statement released to the Weekend Mail, the team seeks to target all fashion lovers both local and in the diaspora with a knack for helping others.
“There will be a host of designers showcasing their diverse talents and style. The primary aim of the show is to raise funds to support the Sickle Cell Anaemia Clinic at the UTH. This will be done through the help of the Foundation for People Living with Sickle Cell in Zambia. The show also seeks to showcase the talent of several up and coming designers on the Zambian Fashion Scene,” reads the statement in part.
MaFashio seeks to connect, entertain and educate. It celebrates individualism and showcases everyday people, what they consider fashionable, or not.
‘MaFashio’, is a colloquial Zambian terminology used to refer to a style of dressing that is in vogue or even sometimes over the top.
It is an initiative born from two sisters, Kahyi and Key Fundafunda, Economics and Law students, respectively. They are also full time fashion lovers.
Among the labels expected on display are Mangishi Love, Pandemonium, Debbiechu as well as Chikondi Designs.
Tickets for this event can be bought for K100 and K150 from all Sounds Stores.
