Nkwazi coach David Musole remains upbeat about his team’s chances of beating the drop despite losing 1 – 0 away to Power Dynamos in a rescheduled week 18 fixture played at Arthur Davies Stadium on Wednesday.

Kennedy Mudenda scored the lone goal in the 41st minute to leave the Police sponsored outfit two points above the relegation zone with 27 points from 22 games.

“I think we played well, the boys gave one hundred percent it is only that we did not get a goal. I am satisfied because the boys played according to instructions.

“Despite the loss, we will continue fighting hard so that we beat relegation. This Saturday we are playing away to Konkola Mine Police but we will do our best to collect maximum points,” Musole said.

And Power Dynamos coach Tenant Chilumba told fazfootball.com in a post-match interview that his boys did not lose concentration throughout the match and deserved to win.

“I give credit to the boys; they did not lose concentration from the first whistle and they kept fighting until the last whistle,” said Chilumba.

Chilumba then called on fans to be patient with him as he tried to find a permanent winning formula for last season’s league runner’s up.

“I am still new and I know that fans expect instant success but I am working on finding a winning combination. We have now started winning because we are no longer struggling like we did when I just joined. The best part is that we are now collecting points from our matches,” he said.

Elsewhere, Nchanga Rangers were held to a 1 – 1 draw at home to Red Arrows. Stanley Nshimbi put the visitors in front five minutes after the break while Alex Ngonga drew the homeside level from the penalty spot in the 79th minute.

The result left Nchanga in third place with 41 points, four points adrift of Zesco United who lead the standings on goal difference from Nkana in second.

And Nkana could only play out a goalless draw against Forest Rangers in their rescheduled week 17 fixture at Nkana Stadium.

The result leaves Forest Rangers in 15th position a point ahead of bottom placed Lime Hotspurs.
