FORMER minister in the MMD government, Newstead Zimba has once again sued his wife Naomi, seeking an interim injunction to restrain her from accessing three bank accounts at Finance Bank Zambia Limited.

Mr Zimba, who is former Information and Broadcasting Services minister, had in July, this year, sued his wife demanding various remedies but withdrew the matter for unknown reasons.
Mr Zimba has now accused his wife, Naomi of deserting their matrimonial home for five months.
He wants the Lusaka High Court to order her to account for all the money she has been controlling in her personal account, company account and dollar account, all held at Finance Bank.
He said the money was realised from a family business known as Zambian Cosmetology Consultancy Limited and their house in Lusaka’s Woodlands Township.
Mr Zimba further wants Naomi to be restrained from controlling or collecting rentals from the property on number  41, Nalikwanda Road, Woodlands.
He also wants the court to issue an order of preservation of motor vehicle, a Nissan registration number ABV 135 and their company property.
Mr Zimba said he got married to Naomi Mbewe under customary law and they had lived as husband and wife for 20 years.
He said that in the course of their marriage and for purpose of transparency, he assigned Naomi, who was a secretary at Finance Bank, to be in charge of the financial and domestic affairs of the family.
Mr Zimba said that even when he sold another house in Lusaka, the money was deposited into Naomi’s Kwacha account, which money was used to purchase their Woodlands house.
He said Naomi had been refusing him access to the three bank accounts and money realised from the house rentals and alleged that every time he asked her about the money, she was hostile to him.
