Roan 1 Nkana 1

ARTHUR Kaseloki scored an 85th minute equaliser to deny Nkana maximum points that would have sent the former champions top of the table following the MTN-FAZ Premier League rescheduled matches played yesterday.

With Zesco United playing to a barren draw away to Nkwazi, Nkana took the lead in the 53rd minute through a Jimmy Ndhlovu goal to temporarily go top of the log on 39 points but Kaseloki spoiled the Kitwe side party to ensure the Ndola side remained top and one point clear.

Zesco moved to 38 points with Nkana, who have two games in hand, remaining in second position with 37 points as Red Arrows maintained third slot on 34 points following their 0-0 draw with champions Zanaco.

The match started on a fast note with both sides searching for the winner but fans had to wait until the second half to see some action with Ndhlovu giving Nkana the lead with a powerful shot that Roan keeper Stephen Kabwe failed to keep out.

But with time running out and Nkana dreaming of reclaiming top slot, Kaseloki combined well with Chileshe Kabwe tapping in from close range to snatch a vital point off the visitors to send his team up to 31 points though still in sixth place.

 Nkwazi 0 Zesco 0

From Edwin Imboela Stadium, CLEVER ZULU reports that Zesco held on to top position on the table despite being held to a barren draw by struggling Nkwazi, who needed all the three points to move out of the relegation zone.

Nyambe Mulenga would have scored for Zesco but his shot hit the crossbar after connecting a Mwape Mwelwa cross five minutes into the second half while Peter Lungu’s effort was cleared off the line by the visitors defence after keeper Brown Ng’ambi missed an aerial ball.

 Arrows 0 Zanaco 0

At Nkoloma Stadium, both coaches were left to rue their sides missed opportunities in this exciting match that saw Mazabuka-based referee Emmanuel Njolo denying Zanaco a penalty in the 69th minute, reports ELIAS CHIPEPO.

Zanaco, who came closest through a Davies Mwape header that hit the crossbar in the 53rd minute, thought they would be awarded a penalty when Red Arrows defender Chipika Musolo brought down Henry Banda inside the box but Njolo waved play on to the frustration of Coach Keagan Mumba.
