Ice Queen to concentrate on her music

AFTER missing out on the ultimate prize of US$300,000, Zambia’s envoy and runners up in the television reality show, Big Brother Africa, Cleo has now set her sights on her music career.
Born Clementina Mulenga, the 23 year-old who has remained coy on the viability of her relationship with Zimbabwe’s representative in the house, Hakeem is a rap artiste based in South Africa.
Well, at least she has stated clearly one thing.
Speaking in an Interview with the Weekend Mail prior to her performance at her welcome party, courtesy of MultiChoice, Airtel and Power FM at Lusaka’s Polo Grill, Cleo who was looking lively said her attention will now be towards fine tuning her music career.
“Of course, I am disappointed that I didn’t win the money. But that can’t get to my head right now. I just have to pick up my pieces and concentrate on my music right now,” said the artiste that actually walked away as runner up in the reality show.
She is yet to release an album but has a seven-track mixtape‘Topic of Discussion’.
The mixtape has songs such as ‘Big dreams (Twalalwisha)’, ‘Big dreams remix’, ‘Put it in God’s hands’, ‘Life of a party’, ‘Zachiwelewele’ and two other songs.
While in the house, the Zambian representative had a discussion with Botswana’s Oneal, who is a Deejay there on how they can work together.
Asked how far their plans have gone, Cleo said: “Yeah, we obviously shared a few ideas while in the house but at the moment, nothing has materialised really and we will see how far we go.”
She now wants to start touring the country before embarking on a continental tour with the help of Team Kamikaze, her management team.
“At the moment, I am very much around and will embark on touring,” said the rapper.
No doubt, the artiste’s stint in the Big Brother house will obviously play a great role in shaping her music, the same way it has for other former Big Brother contestants.
Mampi represented Zambia in the previous star-studded game show, dubbed Big Brother Africa – Stargame. When she was evicted, she went on to put up several live shows and even shared a stage with Zimbabwe’s Big Brother contestant and celebrity Roki at Lusaka’s Government Complex and also in Harare.
Mampi has also put up shows abroad and one would only assume the same awaits the Ice Queen.
