Mongu Town Clerk arrested again

The Anti-Corruption Commission has again arrested Mongu Municipal Council Town Clerk Enoch Kandingwa for one count of Abuse of Authority of Office Contrary to Section 99 (1) of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

ACC public relations Manager Timothy Moono in a statement released to QFM says Kandingwa aged 49,of plot 266,Namboard area in Mongu was arrested on 3rd September 2013 for a second charge of abuse of authority of office.

Mr Moono says details are that between 20th May,2011 and 1st December,2011 as Choma Town Clerk, Kandingwa abused the authority of his office, unilaterally and in disregard of the Local Government Service Commission Regulations by employing Mubanga Chibbonta as a clerical officer at the council.

Mr. Kandingwa was earlier arrested by the Commission on 12th August, 2013, for abusing his office as Town Clerk for Choma Muncipal Council by acquiring a piece of land for himself in Chandamali area in Choma without following laid down procedures.

He was earlier this year transferred to Mongu in the same capacity as Town Clerk.

He will appear in court on 25th September, 2013.
