MONZE-based driver Ken Mukosa won his maiden national title after winning the Sable rally held in Chisamba at the weekend to dethrone Jassy Singh, who finished in a distant seventh position on the drivers standing.
Three straight wins coupled, with a third place finish on the first day of the season and second place during the Puma Rally was enough for Mukosa to claim his maiden Zambia Rally title with an unassailable 54 points.
Mukosa took the laurels after bringing home his Pembe Flour Mills/Mwalin Investments Subaru Impreza N8 two minutes 30 seconds quicker than Farook, who finished second in a Ticklay Motorsport Subaru N10 after timing one hour 24 minutes and 58 seconds.
“Well, another victory for Team Kenneth! To all my fans, my sponsors, my service crew and everyone one around, I would like to say thanks for the support. To all my fellow drivers, Farook, Geoffrey, Yazdaan, Azim, Toofail, Shabbir and Chimanga, thanks for the competition.
Looking forward to seeing all the drivers in Monze next month,” Mukosa said.
Mukosa emulates his ex-team mate, the late Charles Kapya Sinyangwe, who was Zambian champion in 2005.
