Fear and panic has hit Zambia fans ahead of next month’s 2014 World Cup group decider against Ghana following the return of Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari to the team.

The AC Milan stars have made themselves available for the crunch tie at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi on September 6.

Boateng announced his return to the national team after a two-year absence after he sensationally called time on his international career after excelling at the 2010 World Cup.

Muntari has also apologized for his tantrums during the Black Stars World Cup qualifier against Lesotho in June, paving the way for him to be selected for the match.

The availability of the two players is expected to boost the squad ahead of next month’s showdown against the Chipolopolo in the country’s second largest city, Kumasi.

News of their return has sent shock down the spine of many Zambian fans who were praying for a weaker Ghanaian team ahead of the meeting of the two sides.

Zambian fans are now beginning to accept defeat even before the two sides match onto the field in Kumasi well aware of the pedigree of the two players.

Zambian authorities have embarked on a psychological battle with their sports minister Chishimba Kambwili bragging the Chipolopolo will hammer the West African powerhouse at their own backyard.

Even though ex-Black Stars trainer Claude Leroy has also predicted a win for the Zambians their fans are aware victory in front of a partisan Kumasi crowd will virtually be impossible.

Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi has insisted the team is well-focused and won’t be distracted by the media warfare adopted by their opponent.

The imminent return of Andre and Jordan Ayew to the team will be a sucker punch to the ambitions of the former African champions.(GNS)
