GOVERNMENT will attract more tourists to create more jobs in the tourism sector, Vice-President Guy Scott has said.
Dr Scott said Government would give the tourism sector an extra boost to create more jobs.
He was speaking to journalists in Livingstone on Tuesday after he viewed the Victoria Falls from Livingstone Island.
The island, which is on the Zambian side, is an important feature of the Victoria Falls because this was where the late missionary and explorer David Livingstone viewed the Falls on November 16, 1855.
Meanwhile, the newly constructed international terminal building at Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula International Airport was yesterday opened.
South African Airways was the first airline to use the new international terminal building by midday yesterday and was followed by British Airways and another smaller aircraft from South Africa.
UNWTO General Assembly delegates from Libya and Angola arrived yesterday using the same terminal building.
National Airports Corporation Limited (NACL) managing director Robinson Misitala, Livingstone Mayor Aggrey Njekwa and airport staff were on hand to give Zambian branded caps to visitors as they arrived using the new facility.
Mr Misitala said in an interview that the opening of the new terminal infrastructure was something that the airport authorities had been looking for.
