THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has commenced investigations into corruption allegations against suspended Copperbelt police commissioner Mary Tembo.
Ms Tembo is alleged to have received a vehicle from a leading emerald mining company for personal use without declaring it to her superiors.
Last Thursday, President Sata suspended Ms Tembo from her position and redeployed Lusaka Province police commissioner Joyce Kasosa to act in Ms Tembo’s place.
ACC public relations manager Timothy Moono said in an interview in Lusaka that investigations into Ms Tembo’s graft allegations are progressing well.
“The investigations are going on well. We started these investigations on her [Ms Tembo] a few weeks ago, before she was even suspended,” he said.
Mr Moono said cases of that nature border on ethical conduct of individual employees.
He said the commission has been promoting establishment of service charts and policy code of conduct by employers for their employees on gift policy.
The gift policy regulates the conduct of employees when they receive gifts from some people to remove speculations.
