—The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC)
says it is placing emphasis on corruption prevention through
sensitizations.

ACC Community Education Officer for Southern Province Chiko Halwiindi
said that the commission is  increasing sensitization campaigns in order to
help prevent the vice.

Speaking to ZANIS at the Agriculture and Tourism Commercial Show in
Livingstone today,  Mr. Halwiindi stated that everyone is a victim of
corruption including the individuals that indulge in the act hence the
need to educate people against the vice.

He explained that in the case where someone diverts funds meant for development for

personal benefit they would suffer the consequences as they would have to use dilapidated

infrastructure such as roads.

He said it was rather unfortunate that many people still do not know
much about the commission and how to go about reporting on corruption.

Mr. Halwiindi said in order for the law enforcement agency to succeed
there is need for the public to support it.

He said the Commission is currently working at harmonizing the existing
laws which in some cases conflict.
