Mkushi referral hospital on the way

-Government has embarked on the construction of a first level modern referral hospital in Mkushi district in the central province.

 

Central province minister Phillip Kosamu says the referral hospital is in phase-one stage of construction.

 

Mr. Kosamu said  phase one construction of the hospital is already completed and that government has engaged a contractor to do the project.

 

He disclosed this in Mkushi district during the official hand-over of a US$68,000 pharmacy from the United States government to Zambia.

 

Mr. Kosamu who could not state how much money the government through the Ministry of Health would spend on constructing the referral hospital reiterated the Patriotic Front (PF) Government’s commitment to improving infrastructure development in the health sector.

 

The Minister said construction works for phase-II of the hospital is under-way.

 

“Government is constructing the first-level referral hospital here in Mkushi district. I’m glad to inform you that the phase-one construction of the hospital is complete and construction works for phase-II are underway,” Mr. Kosamu said.

 

He stressed that the entire central province would see accelerated development in all key sectors of the economy under PF Government.

 

Mr. Kosamu said the Government is committed to ensuring that the Zambian people have equity of access to cost effective, quality health care brought closer to the people.
