— Vice President Guy Scott has assured council employees at Mkushi District Council (MDC) who have gone unpaid four months of government’s commitment to settling all their salary arrears owed.

And Patriotic Front (PF) Mkushi North Constituency Parliamentary Candidate, Ingrid Mphande has appealed to the people to vote for her in the forthcoming July 25th, 2013 by elections.

Meanwhile, PF Mkushi North Constituency Campaign Manager, Mwenya Musenge says time has come for the people to reject politics of regionalism and name calling as being perpetuated by the opposition political parties.

Dr. Scott said the current financial problems that MDC is experiencing are due to a rundown system that the previous MMD government left before the PF took over government.

ZANIS reports from Mkushi District that the Vice President made the assurance when he addressed three public rallies at Nshinso Primary School, Nkolonga Primary School and Itala Primary School in Mkushi North Constituency , respectively today.

Dr. Scott is in the area to drum up support for PF candidate, Ingrid Mphande.

He has since directed Local Government and Housing Minister, Emerine Kabanshi to quickly intervene in the matter in order to alleviate the suffering of the workers..

“I have already spoken to President Michael Sata on the matter and as you well know he is a former Minister of Local Government and Housing and I expect some action in the shortest possible time” he promised.

Earlier, Dr. Scott urged the people of Mkushi North Constituency their votes on the opposition political parties as they have proved not to have to develop the area.

He said the UPND has failed to penetrate other regions other than its once traditional strong of Southern Province.

He however said PF has made strong inroads in Southern Province as evident by the scooping of Livingstone Central seat and some wards.

The Vice President said the former MMD government has nothing to show for its 20 years of being in power as the area has no infrastructure and poor social sector.

Dr. Scott said voting for PF candidate Ingrid Mphande is a sure way of ensuring real development to the area as she will not need any permission to lobby for development from government.

“I case you don’t know, the MMD is no longer in government while the UPND is not closer to forming government as the one in government is PF with a sound developmental agenda”, he said.

He urged Zambians to exercise patience and promised them to see real change before 2016 tripartite elections as opposed to rhetoric.

And speaking at the same functions, PF Mkushi North Constituency candidate, Ingrid Mphande said she offered herself to the country.

Mrs. Mphande urged voters to emphatically vote for her in order to better their lives by implementing PF’s manifesto.

“If you vote for me and by 2016 if i don’t perform to your expectations then you will have no reason to retain me”, she promised.

And PF Mkushi North Constituency Campaign Manager, Mwenya Musenga said time has come for Zambians to vote the PF candidates in Mkushi north, Chipata Central, Kafulafuta and Solwezi East constituencies respectively.

Mr. Musenga who is also Copperbelt Minister and PF Chimwemwe Member of Parliament, said the opposition political parties have become irrelevant as they tend to oppose anything that government does.
