Two villagers appear in court for theft of a plough

 

Siavonga, July 12, 2013, ZANIS — Two men are appearing in the Siavonga magistrate court for stealing a plough.

 

 

 

Before magistrate Bartholomew Kaongo were Shadrick Mubombo 20, a farmer and Private Haliwa 21, a farmer both of Chikazaya village in Chief Sinadambwe’s chiefdom.

 

 

 

Facts of  case were that  on 7th July 2013, the duo jointly and whilst acting together did steal one plough valued at K900 the property of Wise Siakolwa contrary to the laws of Zambia.

 

 

 

When the charge was led to the two accused persons the duo said they have understood the charge but denied the offence. The court recorded a plea of not guilty.

 

 

 

The matter was then adjourned to 23rd July 2013 for commencement of trial.

 

 

 

In the same a 36 year old man is appearing in court for stock theft.

 

 

 

Before magistrate Bartholomew Kaonga was Fanny Moonga, a farmer of Nabanda village in Chief Sikoongo’chiefdom.

 

 

 

It was alleged that on 9th July 2013, Moonga did steal one sheep valued at K350 the property of Simon Kaliya, contrary to the laws of Zambia.

 

 

 

When the charge was led to Moonga he said he has understood the charge but denied the offence and the court recorded a plea of not guilty.

 

 

 

The matter was then adjourned to 19th July 2013 for commencement of trial.
