The National Assembly of Zambia will on June 30, 2013host a friendly sports tournament at the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) between Zambian parliamentarians and their Malawian counterparts in order to enhance cooperation among law makers from the two countries.

The significance of the two sides battling for the trophies stems from mutual relationship that has been established between the two legislative bodies in football and other sport disciplines such as netball and chess.

National Assembly of Zambia Media Liaison Officer Matthew Mukelabai confirmed the development in a press statement released to ZANIS in Lusaka today.

This is the third tournament the two sides are clashing. The first tournament was held in Chipata last year while the second one was in the Malawian capital, Lilongwe this year.

Mukelabai said key guests that are expected to attend the Sunday friendly tournament are National Assembly of Zambia Speaker Patrick Matibini and his Malawian counterpart, Henry Chimunthu Banda and some Members of Parliament from both countries.
