Headman Mulyata’s subjects praise govt over stadium construction .

Livingstone, June 19, ZANIS…. Over 100 villagers of Natabe area of Livingstone District have praised the Patriotic Front (PF) government
for its plans to construct an international stadium in the area.

Kangongo Village Headman Bernard Mulyata said the move by the government was the best thing any
previous government has ever made.

ZANIS sports reports from Livingstone that Headman Mulyata said this in an interview in Livingstone today.

He said the construction of the stadium would not only create the much needed jobs in the tourist capital but would also significantly boost
the tourism industry.

“ This is the best move any government has ever made as it will undoubtedly help to create employment to thousands of jobless youths
in Livingstone as well as help to boost tourism and reduce poverty,” said Headman Mulyata.

Government has unveiled plans to construct an ultra modern football  stadium in Livingstone to prepare the country to host major football
tournament like the African cup and contribute to the development of the country.

And another villager Godfrey Musialela noted that the construction of the stadium would provide people in the area with the much desired
services such health, education among others which are lacking in the area.

“We are extremely happy with government’s plans to construct a stadium here which we hope will come with other facilities such as hospitals,
schools, which are lacking here,’ said Mr. Musialela.

Meanwhile, some villagers who settled in the forest where the facility will be built have been directed to re-locate by 1st August, 2013.

The villagers have since appealed to government to find them land for them to re-settle.
