The Human Rights Commission (HRC) has strongly condemned the Kitwe Sunday School teacher who allegedly defiled a three year old girl.

HRC spokesperson Samuel Kasankha told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka today that the act exhibited by the man was inhuman.

Mr. Kasankha has since called on the law enforcement agencies to decisively deal with the suspected defiler.

He expressed worry that the teacher who was entrusted to build the spirituality of children turned in a sexual abuser.

Mr. Kasankha further called on all parents in the country to ensure that their chidden were entrusted in the hands of morally upright men.

He stated that child defilement and abuse have long devastating effects on the victims hence the need for members of the public to change their mindset.

“Children are children! So it is inhuman for any adult to look at a child as a sexual object. So as parents we need to make sure that we entrust our children in the hands of trusted people so that the children can also grow in friendly environment,” he said.

Last Sunday, a 41 year old Kitwe based Sunday school teacher, Kennedy Chanda, of Christ Embassy Church allegedly defiled a three year old child.

Chanda has since been arrested by police on the Copperbelt.
