PF government moving in tandem with its promises – Mwiinde

Choma, June 16, ZANIS —- A senior government official in Monze says the Patriotic Front (PF) government is already implementing almost all the campaign promises made to develop the district.

Monze District Commissioner Lucia Mwiinde says President Michael Sata’s government wants to transform Monze into a fully developed district through provision of supporting infrastructure to boost economic activities.

Ms Mwiinde said opposition parties now feel frustrated and ashamed to see the PF government fulfilling campaign promises made to Monze residents whom they have been cheating that the PF has failed them.

The District Commissioner said peddling falsehoods against the ruling PF will not work as President Sata is an action oriented president who does not renege on his promises.

She told ZANIS that the PF had promised to tarmac the Monze-Neiko road once voted into government and that undertaking is now becoming a reality as a contract for the upgrading of the road to bituminous standard has been signed and the contractor will soon be on site to begin the work.

Ms Mwiinde said government has also embarked on a number of development projects in Monze district which once completed will transform the living conditions of the ordinary people.

She said among the projects to be undertaken in the district are the sinking of boreholes to improve he water situation in rural areas as well as to put up street lighting in the town of Monze adding that funds for the two projects have been released.

The District Commissioner said funds have also been provided for rural electrification project which is being implemented in Moomba constituency.

Ms Mwiinde has sine appealed to Monze residents to support the development agenda of the PF government so that the district can attain greater heights of development.
