PROMOTED MTN/FAZ Super Division side, Lime Hotspurs coach, Levy Chabala escaped death on Wednesday night after his vehicle was hit by a train in Kitwe.
The accident occurred around 18:45 on the Kitwe-Kalulushi Road railway crossing located at the T-junction with Chibuluma Road.
Chabala said in an interview that he was treated at Wusakile Mine Hospital in Kitwe and later discharged.
“The train hit into my Mitsubishi Chariot car at the level crossing. From there, I was taken to hospital where I was examined,” Chabala said.
“I have three stitches on my forehead but nothing serious.”
Chabala said the train came out of nowhere just after a bus and car ahead of him had just crossed the railway crossing and his car was hit on its side behind the driver’s seat.
The accident happened as Chabala was heading back home in Kalulushi from work in Ndola.
This was after his team had an hour earlier lost 4-nil to Zambia in a practice match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium ahead of tomorrow’s Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier against Sudan.
