Investors implored to employ Zambian professionals

Lusaka, Jun 8/13 ZANIS——Government has urged both local and foreign investors to employ Zambians whenever they are setting up their businesses in the country.

And government has urged local and foreign firms dealing in furniture business to ensure that they take advantage of the rich raw materials produced in the country.

Commerce Permanent Secretary, Stephen Mwansa, said Zambia is one country in the sub-Saharan Africa with a lot of expertise with the capacity of performing to the high levels of expectation.

Mr Mwansa said it is in this vain that government has developed a strategy to ensure that investors engage local professionals and the use of local materials to enhance trade in the country.

The Permanent Secretary was speaking in Lusaka yester night when he officially opened the Home Flair Furniture Shop.

Mr Mwansa further urged Home Flair to ensure that it utilizes the locally made timber in the manufacturing of its products as one way of showing appreciation to the country’s rich abundant resources.

And Home Flair Southern Africa Managing Director, Grant Siebert, said Zambia is one of the countries in Africa which have the best marketing potential.

Mr Siebert commended government for streamlining various investment policies for both local and foreign firms.
