—A Ndola Herbalist, Haward Maila, says the removal of subsidies on fuel and maize will help Zambians develop a culture of hard work.

Mr Maila told ZANIS in an interview today that the removal of subsidy is a new revolution for the Patriotic Front (PF) government.

He said the phenomenon will help government save money and use it in much desiring areas of the economy.

He observed that it is time government paid much attention and allocated funding towards research and development at the ministry of health.

The herbalist said government will now be able to save money and use it in developing new drugs in the treatment of many diseases to replace some drugs which have shown resistance in some patients.

Mr Maila said Zambians should be mindful of the fact that most successful countries today are those that made tough decisions at some point in order to create what they have today.

He said countries like Japan and America are good examples from which Zambians can draw ideas on the benefits of removal of subsidies.

He further called on all well meaning Zambians to support the government’s policy on the removal of fuel and maize subsidies.

Mr Maila observed that the dependence syndrome by many Zambians on subsides is one factor that has contributed negatively to the growth of Zambia’s economy.
