Lusaka PS counsels teachers

Lusaka, May 25, 2013,ZANIS–Lusaka province permanent secretary Emelda Chola urged teachers to be focused in order to achieve the millennium development goals.

Ms. Chola said this during the Labour Day award giving ceremony for the teachers in Lusaka yesterday.

She said  the award giving ceremony was a motivating factor for teachers who did not receive anything as will now strive to work harder.

Ms. Chola said that teachers should instill a sense of hardwork to develop Zambia by producing efficient students.
She said that Zambias economy will be transformed if the graduating pupils are innovative in developing the country.

She said workers are an important resource and that government will ensure that it creates an enabling working environment for them.

Ms. Chola advised the teachers to be cautious about HIV/AIDS adding that they should impart the knowledge about the disease to the pupils.

Meanwhile, Provincial Education Officer Neroh Mwanapabu urged the recipients of the labour day awards to continue working hard.

He said that the teachers should work harder because the PF is running  a listening government which has rescinded its decision to  ban the double class and responsibility allowances.
