Chief Mapanza dies

Chief Mapanza of the Tonga people in Choma is dead.

District Commissioner Golden Nyambe has confirmed the death of the traditional leader to ZANIS in Choma today.

According to Mr Nyambe, the late Chief Mapanza alias Maurice Katowa died yesterday at his palace, about 75 kilometres from Choma Boma.

The late chief has been on the throne for many years.

Burial arrangements will be announced later.
